To accelerate the efforts to achieve universal sanitation coverage and to put focus on sanitation, the Prime Minister of India launched the Swachh Bharat Mission on 2nd October, 2014.
The entire team of Parivartan- The Change is dedicated to make India a cleaner-healthier place to live in. In this regard, the organisation has made countless efforts and has been able to make its adopted village, Khedli Jeeta,Block- Hathin; Dist. Palwal, Haryana, an open defecation free village. Recently the village got an award of one lakh rupee from Haryana govt. for its sanitation.
The village is well equipped with solid waste management program and pure drinking water facility. The work of covering the drains is in progress. We are also working upon bio-gas plant, which unfortunately got disrupted due to high water table when the neighbouring villages irrigate their fields. sweepers do their jobs honestly and regularly. They get extra pocket by selling the plastics and solid non-disposable waste. The biodegradable waste is used for making manure.

In alignment with the Swachh Bharat Mission, Parivartan spearheaded the holistic development of Khedli Jeeta village, Palwal, Haryana.

– Achieved Open Defecation Free (ODF) status, supported by sustainable sanitation systems.
– Implemented solid waste management, safe drinking water facilities, and covered drains.
– Introduced biodegradable-to-manure conversion, ensuring ecological balance.
– Experimented with a bio-gas plant for renewable energy.
– Honored with a ₹1 lakh award by the Haryana Government for sanitation excellence.

Impact: Khedli Jeeta emerged as a model of rural hygiene, environmental stewardship, and replicable community systems.
